The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring that the bank’s interests are protected at all times and that all documentation conform with minimum standards to ensure they can be used as may be required to protect the bank.

The candidate must have adequate corporate or litigation practice experience or both and will oversee all legal issues within the bank.

          Prepare legal opinions and advice on general legal issues.

          Provide legal advisory and interpretation services on various aspects of existing law and regulatory requirements.

          Provide advice on contentious and non contentious matters affecting the Bank.

          Ensure representation and participation on litigation and ensure follow-up as it affects the Bank.

          Follow-up on contracted external lawyers to procure legal opinions, services, interpretations and consultations.

          Review, investigate (searches) and authenticate securities offered as collateral for credit.

          Prepare, review and advice on MOUs, SLAs and all forms of contractual agreements between the bank and other parties.

          Supervision of registration and custody of credit securities, property titles and legal documents.

          Preparation for Board meeting documentation and sundry tasks.


          General administration of the Bank’s secretariat


          6-10 years work experience.

          Must possess leadership skills.
